German cars officially announced the 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6, the world's first Sports Activity Coupe with full hybrid propulsion. The ActiveHybrid combines a combustion engine with electric motors to create the drive mechanism of the new levels of efficiency and dynamic performance.
In 2010, the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is driven by a 400 hp gasoline twin-turbocharged V8 engine and two electric motors providing a synchronous 91 KM and 86 KM, offering a maximum capacity of 480 housepower and 575 lb-ft torque. It takes just 5.4 seconds for the X6, with a stop to 60 miles per hour. The ActiveHybrid X6 can operate solely on electricity up to speed 37 mph (60 km per hour).
In 2010 ActiveHybrid X6 will make its premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in September and will be headed to the U.S. in Q4 2009.
