Samsung Debuts New R480, R580 and R780 Notebooks

Samsung R480 NotebookBeginning with the Samsung R480, it comes with an Intel Core i3 330 processor running at 2.1 GHz and 3 MB L3 cache in the. It comes standard with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and will have its graphics provided by an Intel GMA 4500MHD chip. It will also come with a large hard drive to 500GB, including a Blu-Ray. 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium will come standard. The screen size is 14 inches.

Up next is the Samsung R580. It will have a slightly larger 15-inch screen and comes with an Intel Core i5 more powerful 430 processor (2.26GHz Clockspeed, 3 MB L3 cache). This will be a reinforcement of graphics courtesy of NVIDIA GeForce 310M (with 512 MB VRAM). Like the R480, it will have 4 GB of DDR3. It will also come with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).

The Samsung R780 is their flagship model in the new offerings. It will include a large 17-inch screen, and the same Intel Core i5 430 as the R580. This will have many of the same features as the smaller laptops, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, etc. Curiously, it lacks a Blu-Ray. A bit strange to offer high-end, given the low prices will be those who have one. It will also come with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).
