Dell Precision M6500 Mobile WorkstationDell Precision M6500 launched 17-inch mobile workstations with Intel Core i7.

With the Core i7 Extreme i7-920XM-820QM or i7-720QM quad core CPU, the successor of M6400 ATI FirePro M7740 1GB, Quadro FX 2800M or 1GB Quadro FX 3800M 1GB graphics card specific, four memory slots offering up to 16 GB DDR3 RAM, two hard drives, supports RAID 0 and 1, a DVD burner or Blu-Ray optical drive. Dell has announced that soon a mini M6500 SSD card option and support for RAID 5

The display uses LED-backlit 1440 × 900 or 1920 × 1200 pixels, depending on customer choice.

Dell M6500 has a built-in support for Wi-Fi, Blueooth, LAN, Ultra-Wideband, mobile broadband connectivity and GPS. It includes stereo speakers, 2MP webcam, optional dual array microphones, Display Port and VGA outputs, four USB ports, ExpressCard slot and PC Card, eSATA and FireWire, optional fingerprint reader and the card reader or optional Contactless Smart Card Reader.

Mobile workstation starts 8.5lbs and comes with Windows 7 and Windows Vista pre-installed.

The base price for standard Precision M6500 is $ 2,749, while the M6500 Covet edition orange aluminum chassis and edge to edge of the screen starts at $ 4219. Preliminary ship date is 12/22/2009.
