
The 2011 BMW 5-Series part of the propulsion system will consist of a V8 (407 hp) and three 6-cylinder gasoline engines and two 6-cylinder diesels. 4-cylinder turbo diesel with an aluminum crankcase and common-rail direct injection will also be available for the European market. All BMW 5-Series will be available with an optional 8-speed automatic transmission.
