SanDisk has launched its first new media player within a year today Sansa Clip +. Major revision of its competitor, the iPod shuffle fits the microSD card slot and can use both to extend the built-in memory or to the game's pre-or slotRadio slotMusic card. Finally, it is also Mac compatible and allows users of the drag-and-drop music from a Mac OS X Panther or later.
The player continues to depend on the clip's namesake, as well as extremely high-quality audio decoding. Format support is fairly broad and includes a relatively popular MP3, WMA, WAV and standards, as well as Audible audiobooks, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis, an FM tuner, a radio. 1-inch OLED helps to achieve claimed battery life of 15 hours, using relatively little energy.
SanDisk versions ship with 2GB, 4GB and 8 GB of memory in the prices of $ 40, $ 50 and $ 70 respectively. They should be available online later today, but the U.S. will not be shopping them to 13 September.
